M/V AKAMA
Not all those who wander are lost

Hello!

In December 1999, while living in Singapore, we bought M/V AKAMA, a full displacement trawler yacht. We lived on AKAMA while working then, when we retired, we slipped the lines and went exploring. Over about a five year period we explored much of SE Asia and Australasia, sometimes alone and sometimes with other boaters we met along the way. One of the highlights of our voyage was travelling through virtually uncharted waters, rarely visited by yachties. For an overview of our voyage, published in Waypoints, the Krogen newsletter, please click here AKAMA Article

The original web site was created for our family and friends to follow our travels, but was available to anyone. Now that we've swallowed the anchor and moved ashore we've rewritten the site and are leaving it online for reference. We hope that it will be interesting and useful.

During our voyage, we wrote regular reports about our experiences. Most of them are available under the Reports tab. Also available, under the Articles tab, are a few articles we wrote on specific subjects relating to world cruising in a power boat. Finally, organised by country, is a sampling of photos from our adventure; here too, we still have some to post.

We love to receive comments about our web site and questions about our adventures.  Please drop us a line telling us what you think and telling us about your adventures.
